Welcome to the Reed's Temple Church Mission's Ministry. As you explore the opportunity of becoming a new member, we invite you to take a closer look at missions work.
As mission workers, it is our objective, through contributions in serving, praying and giving, to attend to the physical needs of mankind, and win lost souls for Christ. We will achieve this by taking the example of the greatest missions worker of all time, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Himself. Note the 5 "Ws":
- What is Missions?
- Who started Missions?
- Where does Missions take place?

What is Missions?
Missions is probably best described as the act of meeting a specific need or providing a service to a person, people, or land. Missions is synonymous to SERVING.
Who started Missions?
The first noteworthy occurrence of Missions started with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In Matthew 14:15-21, "Jesus had just preached to a multitude the glad tidings, and now evening had come and the multitude had not eaten yet. The disciples suggested sending them home, but Jesus recognized their need, and with two fish and five loaves of bread he fed 5,000 men, not including women and children!"
Where does Missions take place?
Missions work takes place in your community, neighborhood, church, poverty-stricken streets, the alleys, parks, and surrounding towns. Look where Jesus worked: Capernaum, Jerusalem, Jericho and towns on both sides of the Sea of Galilee.
When do we do Missions work?
Currently, the Missions Ministry serves the second Saturday of each month from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. We meet promptly at 8 am at the church for prayer and team assignments.
Why is Missions necessary?
Missions work is necessary because Jesus co- MISSION-ed us. Jesus admonished every believer of God that if you loved Him to "Feed his sheep." As missions workers we distribute food baskets, clothes, toys, and personal hygiene products as well as the "Good News" to a wider audience. As we stretch out and spread our wings, we encounter new situations and we are introduced to some needs that require our help and prayers. Moreover, by spreading out, we spread LOVE!! Jesus spread out and deaf ears were opened, lepers were cleansed, the hungry fed, and the naked clothed. This is why missions is necessary and this is why God needs laborers like you in the vineyard.
